Over Torque Warning Units

The Over Torque Warning Unit (OTWU) monitors torque from the engines and the main rotor RPM. The unit can receive two rotor speed inputs and 6 torque inputs for each of the engines. An audio drive signal and discrete signal are provided to the aircraft when an over torque condition exists. In addition to these outputs, the unit has LED displays and two indicators to indicate over torque and main rotor speed conditions. It also records data that can be accessed after the flight using the display on the front of the unit. The OTWU operates from DC aircraft power per MIL-STD-704A.
